Marcos Macedo is a PhD Student in Computer Science at Queen’s University under the guidance of Dr. Yuan Tian. He holds a BSc in Computer Science degree from University of Montevideo, Uruguay.
He is interested in Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence. His current research is focused on Large Language Models (LLMs) for Software Engineering (AI4SE) and Software Engineering for AI (AI4SE). Specifically, he is working on leveraging LLMs for code translation across programming languages, aiming to improve the efficiency and accessibility of software development. In addition, he is dedicated to simplifying the complexity of data pipelines that incorporate LLMs and developing robust methods for benchmarking LLMs in real-world Software Engineering scenarios.
Before joining Queen’s, he worked at Verafin (a NASDAQ company) and IBM, where he performed software development, advocacy, consulting and mentoring roles. He has more than 10 years of experience delivering software solutions for both personal and corporate clients.
